Né en 1981 au Burkina Faso, Hyacinthe Ouattara est un artiste plasticien principalement autodidacte. Il vit et travaille actuellement en France. Après plusieurs expériences d'ateliers, avec une formation en dessin de modèle vivant, Hyacinthe Ouattara a d'abord imaginé le corps humain de façon onirique, fantomatique et enfantine avant d'entrer dans ses entrailles et de concentrer son travail sur l'anatomie des tissus cellulaires à travers des "cartographies humaines" La matière, la texture et les couleurs sont très importantes dans son travail pictural. Parfois, un patchwork apparaît.

Ses dessins, quant à eux, sont spontanés, gestuels et interrogent l'humain. Ses installations jouent souvent avec les suspensions, questionnant l'équilibre et le déséquilibre. Ils sont aussi bien une réflexion sur la mémoire et, puisqu'il se concentre sur le textile, sur un aspect organique. Le textile lui permet aussi de questionner l'ambivalence entre apparence et disparition, représentation et intimité, identité au sens large.
Ses sculptures en textiles torsadés et noués reprennent cette obsession de l'organique et s'interrogent sur la notion de liens. Il a participé à des expositions à Paris, Berlin, Dakar, Dubaï, Ouagadougou, Accra, au Luxembourg, aux foires AKAA (Paris) Captown Art Fair, Dubai Art Fair, et à la Biennale du Caire

Born in 1981 in Burkina Faso, Hyacinthe Ouattara is a mainly self-taught plastic artist. He currently lives and works in France. After several workshop experiences, with a training in living model drawing, Hyacinthe Ouattara first imagined the human body in a dreamlike, ghostly, and childish before entering his bowels and concentrating his work on the anatomy of cellular tissues through "human cartographies". The material, texture and colors are very important in his pictorial work. Sometimes a patchwork appears.

His drawings, for their part, are spontaneous, gestural and question the human. His installations often play with suspensions, questioning balance and imbalance.
