ABOUT THE ARTWORK AND THE ARTIST
The series of monumental sculptures Alma Dura / Ame Dure refers to social, political and environmental subjects where, affected through their struggle and resistance, they cope with all the adversities encountered.
Carlos Garcia Noriega Bueno collaborates with civil associations where he seeks to channel attention to the problems experienced in Mexico. This series is a worldwide protest and critique, specifically on the problem of borders as well as the ever-increasing nationalism, endangered bees and refugees.
It seeks to focus energy to recognize the soul and spirit of all people who find themselves enveloped in these situations on a daily basis. The sculptures are there to transmit to us this incredible fragility in their structure but their resilience in the materials used (aluminum, copper and steel). Through the shapes and right angles it shows us the human strength to overcome any adversity. The use of his three metals puts us back to each of the causes he supports.
