ABOUT THE ARTWORK AND THE ARTIST
Painter and visual artist, Jean-Marc Hunt proceeds by series, accumulation and diversion. His work is often based on the economy of means, evoking a state of emergency in an ironic way.
This series of paintings, presented as tablets, is made with acrylic, posca and ink, on paper glued on canvas, composed of many drawings engraved in black material. A collection of short stories and theories of contemporary origins, revealing contrasting, serious and ironic scenes with random narratives about globalization, inequality and discrimination in the 21st century.
These works were notably presented at the Mémorial Acte de Pointe-à-Pitre Guadeloupe and at the Venice Biennale in the first pavilion dedicated to the Islands of Guadeloupe.
