Yuyang Liu, the art of photographing contemporary society
Born in Sichuan, southwest China, in 1991, Yuyang Liu studied photography as a self-taught photographer at the age of 16. He holds a B.A. in history from East China Normal University. He is currently based in Shanghai and Chengdu.
His images focus on change and connecting people in a changing society.
Liu Yuyang is a freelance photographer for Getty Images, The New York Times, and others. His work has been published on TIME, The New York Times, NPR, BBC, The Guardian, ChinaFile, Science, Lancet, South China Morning Post, etc.
He also collaborates with NGOs such as UNICEF, Greenpeace and Save the Children. Among its commercial clients are Apple, Airbnb, Xiaomi and JD, etc.
